Reviewing and Returning GERs in Therap 7.3.10
August 19th, 2008In case you hadn’t noticed, we had a bit of an issue with the 7.3.9 release where GER reviewers couldn’t see the “Edit this GER” button and hence couldn’t attach files or return the GER to its submitter.
We have now fixed this and are working on making those buttons available directly on the GER.

Approving and Returning GERs in Therap 7.3.9
August 18th, 2008As you may have noticed, we published an update to the system this weekend.
The update focused primarily on GERs (though there are a couple of updates in ISP Plans) and makes them so that multiple people can work on the same incident report at the same time. This should mean the end of the “Sorry someone already updated this GER” error.
The end result of this is as follows:
When you go to look at a GER, you will be able to add Notification Information (this is new and cool) and review comments (assuming you have the GER Review or Approve) roles.
If however you want to do more work on the GER (either to edit, Approve, or Return) then you will need to click the Edit this GER button.
We appreciate that as far as Approving or Returning the GER this is a little confusing and we’re working on that as we speak.
As always, all comments and suggestions are always wanted.

Update :: Therap 7.3.9
August 17th, 2008We have recently updated the system with the following enhancements:
1. Archived General Event Reports (GERs):
Changes made to GERs in ‘Pending Approval’ and ‘Returned’ states are now archived. Users with ‘GER Approve’ role will find an ‘Update History’ link at the top and bottom of the GERs that have been updated.
2. Multiple users adding Review Comments to a GER at a time:
Multiple users can now access a GER at a time to add Review Comments. Users with appropriate GER roles will find the entire GER form, except the ‘Review Comments’ section, in read-only mode. This way a user can enter ‘Review Comments’ to a GER, even when other users are also entering Review Comments to that GER.
A user can also edit a GER when other users are adding Review Comments to that GER in read only mode.
3. A ‘Signature’ sheet added to New York specific ISP Plan:
A ‘Signature’ sheet has been added to the PDF version of the New York specific ISP Plan. This sheet will allow the following people to include their signature in the printed version of the ISP Plan:
- Individual
- Advocate
- Service Coordinator
- Service Coordinator Supervisor
4. Increased character count for ISP Plan:
Character limitation for the ‘Valued Outcome’ field within an ISP Plan has been increased from 64 characters to 200 characters. This will help
users to enter the individual’s valued outcome in more details.
5. A new label ‘Last Updated By’ added to Intake/Elimination form in Health Tracking:
A new label ‘Last Updated By’ has been added to Intake/Elimination form in Health Tracking. This will show the name of the staff members who are further updating the form. You will also find the ‘Last Updated By’ field as one of the search criteria on the ‘Intake and Elimination Search’ page.

End of an Era
August 15th, 2008Today officially ended the Mike and the Mad Dog Show after nearly 19 years.
This may not mean much (if anything to those of you outside the range of WFAN), but it is a huge deal in the world’s second best sports city (after Edinburgh of course).
Mike Francesa and Chris Russo basically defined the sports talk radio format over the past two decades, and I for one will miss them.
Strangely, I don’t find either one (particularly Francesa) especially entertaining on their own, but together they have occupied a very special place on the Mets flagship station.
Cheerio, cheerio, cheerio…

More Groovy 8.0 Stuff :: Assign Provider Admin Capabilities
August 13th, 2008This is another one of those features that we’ve been asked for a lot. In Therap 8.0 you are going to be able to assign out specific groups of Provider Administration capabilities. Here’s how it works:
For starters, there is a new area on the Provider Admin FirstPage:
When you click on “Assign Admin Capabilities” you’ll get a list of all your users:
Choose the person you want to give special powers to and you’ll see this screen:
Just check the boxes for what you want the user to be able to do. We’ll get into what each one is at another time. That’s basically it, of course if you want to go in and see who can do what, just click on your “List of Assignments” link and you’ll see:
Remember that you can click on a screenshot above to see a bigger version.
That’s it from the Provider Admin side, now let’s take a look at what this did for your users. Each one you chose now has a new link on the right hand panel of their FirstPage:
Also, in their Profile they will have a list of their Admin capabilities:
Clicking on “Switch to Admin User Mode” will obviously do just that!
You can hop backwards and forwards as much as you like!
I have a couple of things I would like to see before 8.0 comes out like some help text and maybe a coloured border like there is for Test Mode. I’d love to know what you think, drop us an email or click on the comments link below.

One-Stop Technology: College of Direct Support & Therap
August 12th, 2008This is another really cool, really exciting feature that will be available in Therap 8.0
We’ll also be talking a lot about it at our conference in Kansas City.
Here’s how it works: (if the screenshots are too small, click on the image to get a bigger version).
As you can see, there is a new link down at the bottom of the Training Administrator area on FirstPage.
If you click on this you will get a list of CDS Courses like this:
Choosing a course will then bring you to a list of your staff who you can assign to take the course, like this:
Once you’ve done this, staff will now be able to see what courses have been assigned to them thanks to a handy dandy new link in their My Training box:
Clicking on “CDS Courses Assigned to Me” shows a list of just that!
Clicking on “Take Lesson” will bring up a list of the lessons within that course, like so:
Now this is where it gets really, really cool! Clicking on one of these lessons will open up College of Direct Support at exactly the right place (provided that you have put in your CDS login information):
Not bad eh?

A new series of Therap Webinars
August 11th, 2008We are starting a new series of Therap Webinars. These are open to all Therap users and will cover topics that we hope will be of interest to you.
The sessions are designed to be for users from different agencies to get together to discuss current and relevant topics.
The first is on 8/22/2008 and we’ll take a look at ways to save on mileage costs by using Therap.
We’d also be very interested in hearing from you as to what subjects you would like covered.
