What happened to the GER ‘Return to Submitter’ and ‘Approve’ options?

August 19th, 2008

With our recent update, you will find that you need to click on the ‘Edit this GER’ button at the bottom of a GER in order to access the ‘Return to Submitter’ or ‘Approve’ buttons. This extra step has been implemented to facilitate the simultaneous adding of review comments by multiple users, on a GER.

So who does this affect? Users with the ‘GER Review’ and ‘GER Approve’ roles will need to click on the ‘Edit this GER’ button to find the ‘Return to Submitter’ and ‘Approve’ buttons respectively.

Also, users with only the ‘GER Review’ role will be able to add attachments once they have clicked on the ‘Edit this GER’ button.

A return trip to Illinois

July 30th, 2008

I arrived with little drama yesterday afternoon and to my surprise, my luggage did as well!…I actually could have sworn I saw my luggage sitting on the little trolley cart as we pulled away from Bradley and they announced over the loud speaker that the luggage department was full and, oh my, they had to leave a few pieces behind. But thanks to my luck, it was someones else’s :)

So today I spent the morning with an agency in Mount Vernon whom I visited just under a year ago…it was like a Therap reunion and we had pizza to celebrate! On my return drive back to Fariview Heights I could not help but swing into the museum I passed on my way down which caught my eye due to their extensive outdoor sculptures. It’s the CedarHurst Center for the Arts and what a great landscape! I’ve heard that the gallery exhibits are very impressive, they had the King Tut exhibit back in the early 90’s, but unfortunately for me the buildings are currently under construction, so no gallery exhibits to view. I did meander around the exterior…mostly modern sculptures (not my favorite) on some beautifully maintained landscapes. The temp was 103 so the jaunt was quick and I did snap a few photographs in the blazing Egyptian like sun:

OK, Flickr keeps “Bonking” my photographs so no uploads tonight…I’ll post tomorrow!

One of my favorite Bistro’s

July 23rd, 2008

I am here in lovely Newark, Delaware training a couple of providers that have decided to surge ahead and implement applications that the state has not yet mandated…fun stuff!! Always nice to see and hear our users excited about Therap and how it is going to impact their particular agencies in a variety of cool ways. While here I am of course planted nightly at my favorite local restaurant, Caffe Gelato, a sweet little Northern Italian/ Mediterranean inspired Bistro in downtown Newark.

If you ever find yourself in this college town you simply Must stop in for dinner and a gelato, the gelato being made on premises and offered in a variety of delightfully sinless flavors.

Enjoy :)

A week in Thailand

July 23rd, 2008

This was my second trip to Thailand since 2004. I was there with my family.  On my way to Bangkok I had the chance to be at the cockpit of the McDonald Douglas DC-10 while in flight for 20 great minutes. I was amazed to see unlike cars, flying airplanes are more on using all the instruments and relying on dashboard. The DC-10 had two pilots and a senior flight engineer in the cockpit who briefly demonstrated me how they fly such huge aircrafts with ease. With an aircraft this old, it was more like looking at all the analog controls and wires; it sure takes a lot more effort and precision to fly these older models.

Bangkok’s new Suvarnabhumi Airport looked sleeker and bigger than the older one. Bangkok has also changed massively over the years, and you can tell the power of their industrialization seen everywhere. From flower shops, to shampoos, to clothing, electronics and automobile manufacturing, they have captured the art of industrialization, and their economic growth is well distributed among all classes of people. Although I didn’t see that many software companies there. The most amazing force behind their growth is probably hard work and passion for what they do. The great roads, transportation and immense shopping malls only add more life to the city then there ever was. I never felt a city could be so much connected. I had a superb time in MBK, Paragon and Central World. Paragon had Ocean World available at the basement, which is one of Asia’s largest underwater worlds and is as good as you can dream of. They also had amazing IMAX theatre which was premiering Batman Dark Knight. The city has so many signs of a growing nation that amazes everyone.

There was the magnificent “Earth from Above” photography exhibition at Zen Outdoor Arena - a special development program to make people more aware of the Sustainable Development of our planet. The photos were by the legend Yann Arthus-Bertrand, a renowned and internationally-recognized French photographer. It was mind blowing aerial photography, with a strong focus on the environment, from around the globe. It took us hours to complete the exhibition which made us come across some of the most amazing facts that’s hard to believe. There were facts that leave you mystified as to why. For example, the Earth can currently produce food for a little over 10 billion people for 2000 calories per day per person; half of 6.7 billion people living on the Earth are living under $2 per day, for whom even eating bread is hard enough.

It’s a city that has a lot of life and lot going on, busy by tourists, it has the ability to awe you everyday. Yes sometimes I did miss Thai originality and traditions, but Thailand does feel different. There’s scope for a lot of recreation, shopping, and site seeing in every corner of the city.

Out of 700 photographs these are my last to post :)

July 1st, 2008

The first two are from my seven hour drive to Casper, WY. The color of the earth was simply magnificent! The remaining are evening photographs when the light is perfect for photographing.

Every day I spent in Wyoming was filled with blazing sunshine so most of the photographs were unfortunatly over exposed. :(
