What does Therap Do?

Therap provides a secure, online, and comprehensive solution to assist and meet the documentation and communication needs of the organizations serving people with developmental disabilities. Therap's integrated suite of Individual, Staff, and Billing support applications helps agencies to maintain individual records and notes; track and report incidents; perform audit and review; collaborate with staff members, state personnel, individuals' family; and generate different reports.

Therap greatly reduces the reliance on and use of paper. It is designed to significantly reduce the cost of paper, stamps, mailing, faxing, copying, phone bills, staff travel time and fuel. It saves time and effort for writing reports and analyzing data, finding documents, and communicating with staff members.

Who uses Therap?

There are right now over 200 agencies who provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities in the form of residential services, day programs and others, who are using Therap to do their documentation. It makes the sharing of information between staff at such agencies very easy, so that as soon as a report or form is created, everyone who should know about it, does! The web-based Therap system enables authorized users of the system to access the information they need from anywhere, at anytime. The system is meant for everyone at the agency, including
Direct Support Professionals, Clinicians, Supervisors, Executives, Cases Managers, and Parents.

In Delaware, all provider agencies within the state are required to use Therap for incident reporting, with more capabilities in trial. Therap provides state specific support and training materials for users in Delaware.

Therap employs flexible and user-friendly interfaces to provide users with easy and effective access to the information they are authorized to use. All Therap applications are designed to meet the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and other security and privacy requirements.

Therap's Suite of Applications

The suite of application could be categorized in the following manner:

Individual Support


This covers all the modules that relate to how an agency provides support to the individuals. This includes modules for creating the overall support/service plan (Individual Service Plans, Habilitation Plans, Individualized Plan of Protective Oversight and Safeguards ), track scores against the plans, create reports, to track incidents and medication errors (General Event Reports), track bowel movements, blood pressure, vital signs (Health Tracking), shift notes, shift logs (T-Logs) and more

Staff Support


Therap's Staff Support application provides tools that facilitate the monitoring and management of information regarding staff training and certification (Training Management System). It also allows agencies to manage total work hours of employees by setting up weekly and monthly schedules (Staff Scheduling). Billing Support


Therap's Billing Support application has been designed to help providers track services given to individuals and the amount that is to be billed for each service. It supports Electronic Billing which allows for direct submission of claims to Medicaid. Using Therap's Billing modules users can create Service Authorizations, track billable and non-billable service units, send single or multiple professional claims with Electronic Billing and view claim status. Therap also provides extensive customer support and training services to its users.
